Regional Directors are not employed by Microsoft, and are therefore considered objective and relevant on their field of expertise. The group of RDs is relatively small, counting around 140 people. Europe has less than 50 Regional Directors and Matevž is the only one in Slovenia.

The role of Regional Director includes access to latest technologies in early stage of development. It's primary focus is to consult and inform the Microsoft development community about potential ways Microsoft technologies will evolve. We consider access to early technologies a business benefit, which we will incorporate into our existing product line.
